Karen Hirschkorn Walker, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner was constantly telling her husband Paul how unresponsive the Landlord of her therapy suite was.  Paul, being in the commercial real estate industry, and having a solid understanding of how important it is for tenants to be happy in their work environment, saw an opportunity for a business.  Park Avenue Professional Suites was launched in 2005 with one location at 50 Lexington Avenue on 24th Street, and grew to a second location at 211 East 43rd Street two years later. 

Karen Hirschkorn Walker is a native of New York City. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science and attended graduate school at Vanderbilt University and received a masters in psychiatric nursing. Karen has been practicing as a psychiatric nurse practicioner since 1996. In addition to her private practice Karen is an adjunct professor at NYU Graduate School, and is on the medical staff at St. Lukes Roosevelt.

Paul Walker is also a native New Yorker and graduate of the University of Vermont. (However he did not know Karen.) Paul is a First Vice President at CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest Real Estate service company. Paul represents several of New York’s premier landlords and intimately understands how a real estate facility should be managed..
